Something Wrong With Installation URL "/install/index.php

I didn't get very far, yet.. After unpacking the exponent-2.3.0-patch-3.zip to my web root I pointed my browser at: as suggested in the docs. But it redirects me to --> and thus ends up with a screen saying:

"Not Found

The requested URL /index.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

Any advice on how I could start the installation?

It sounds like you've only installed the 'patch' file and did not already extract/install the exponent cms package v 2.3.0 https://github.com/exponentcms/exponent-cms/releases/download/v2.3.0/exponent-2.3.0.zip

A 'patch' file ONLY contains files changed from the version it patches. Try extracting the full version package, then/next extract the patch file. Patches are cumulative, therefore patch #3 contains all the changes issued in patches #1 and #2 .

I'm having a similar issue trying to install 2.3.2 on one of my sites. I downloaded the zip with wget, extracted it and made sure permissions were correct (755/644). I made sure to log into Exponent, but wast't prompted to start the upgrade process. So I tried going to mysite.org/install/index.php. When I click on check database, it tries to find the page but eventually I'm taken to page not found.

I'm having a similar issue trying to install 2.3.2 on one of my sites. I downloaded the zip with wget, extracted it and made sure permissions were correct (755/644). I made sure to log into Exponent, and started the upgrade process. When I click on Continue to Update the Database Tables, it tries to find the page but eventually I'm taken to page not found.

It must have been something with the .htaccess file. I extracted everything again and now it updated just fine. I wasn't overwriting the .htaccess file before.

Was this a running/existing site? That help doc only applies to an interrupted initial installation (which didn't complete). I can't reproduce your issue locally and the only possible issue might be if the stored db user/password doesn't match the MySQL database ones...but even then you should get the page with a database access error. Are you running the standard .htaccess file (was it extracted correctly)?

You need to confirm that /install/pages/upgrade-3.php exists with the correct permissions
